Data deletion instructions

This page explains how to have your personal information deleted from AutoChat. It applies to anyone: partners with an AutoChat workspace, end customers of businesses that run on AutoChat, and people who connected a Google or Meta account (such as Instagram or WhatsApp) to a product built on the platform. You do not need an account to use this process.
How to request deletion
- Email [email protected] with the subject line "Data deletion request".
- Tell us who you are — the name, and the email address or phone number, that the data would be stored under.
- Tell us the business involved, if you know it — for example, the company you called, texted, or booked with. This is how we locate the right records, because AutoChat stores data separately for each business.
- Tell us the scope — delete everything held about you, or specific records (for example, call recordings only, or a connected Instagram or WhatsApp conversation history).
- Send it. No form, no account, no verification portal — email is the whole process.
If you connected a Google or Meta service to a product built on AutoChat, you can also disconnect it at the source at any time — in your Google account's third-party access settings, or your Facebook or Instagram account's business integration settings. Disconnecting stops further data flowing; emailing us as described above removes what was already processed.
What happens next
- We acknowledge your request within 7 days of receiving it.
- We verify that you are the person the data relates to — usually by replying to the address or number the records are stored under. We never ask for government ID for routine requests.
- Where the data is controlled by a business running on AutoChat, we route the request to that business and support it in completing the deletion. We tell you when we have done this.
- Deletion from active systems is completed within 30 days of verification. Copies in encrypted backups expire on a rolling schedule after that.
- We confirm to you in writing when deletion is complete.
What we may retain
Some records are kept even after a deletion request, where the law requires or permits it: invoices and transaction records needed for tax and accounting, records of the deletion request itself, and the minimum entry on a suppression list needed to make sure you are not contacted again. Everything retained is the minimum for that purpose and nothing more.
